It is true that there is an ongoing debate over whether the amount of time and money spend on scientific research is justified. Although some people believe that significant portion of such research is wasteful, I completely disagree with this viewpoint because these explorations can help to improve living qualities of people and increase their life expectancy.
The primary reason why I hold this view is that scientific research can significantly improve people’s life qualities. This is mainly because all of the technologies that we cannot imagine our life without them are created through scientific research. A pertinent example of this would be the Internet. Without a doubt this breakthrough certainly influences many aspects of our daily life. As a result, we can easily communicate with our friends and family, even though they are far away or we can purchase products and clothes through online shops without leaving the home. Therefore, this clearly demonstrates why scientific research is essential to boost people’s living qualities.
Another compelling reason is that invention of new medicines and vaccines through scientific inquiry tend to increase people’s life expectancy. The rationale behind this is that these breakthroughs might be become treatment for some serious diseases which often ends with death. Consequently, people will tend to live longer and healthier. A good case to cite in support of this argument would be invention of the vaccine during COVID-19. The large number of scientists and doctors spend their time and effort to create this vaccine and consequently, this help to save millions of people’s life and eradicate this pandemic. For these reasons, I believe that although in some cases scientific research may require long time and effort, its benefits are undeniable.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree that scientific research is a waste of time and money, as it helps to improve people’s life qualities and increase their lifespan clearly demonstrate that scientific inquiry plays crucial role in our life.
