It is irrefutable that humanitarian subjects like philosophy, literature and history play a crucial role in the lives of people. Some argues that there is no value for these subjects when people pursue such from universities. I disagree with this statement undoubtedly and i am going to state my point of view on such a question and give strong arguments supporting my position.
On the one hand, humanitarian topics depict a country’s ancient tradition and culture. In addition to this, it is necessary to provide knowledge about conventional human life to the coming generation. For instance, the story of freedom struggle of India can be taught to children only through the subjects like history and philosophy.
On the other hand, there are so many people who have a fond of studying topics pertaining to humanity and they would like to build their career by gaining more knowledge about these subjects and this is evident from the increasing number of bachelor’s courses such as BA History, BA Philosophy and many more.
On the contrary, there are limited number of job opportunities for those who studied these subjects and career building is only up to a teacher and these kind of topics have no practical application.
To recapitulate, humanitarian topics has some value among the society mainly among those who wishes to acquire more knowledge about it and authority should take care of enhancing the job opportunities to people who pursue Bachelor’s or Master’s in subjects like history, philosophy and literature.
