It is commonly believed by some people that a variety of cultures and age groups can be brought together by music. In my opinion, I completely agree that music results in unity between different places, languages and ethnicities and is also enjoyed universally hence developing a connection between all age demographics.
In terms of bringing cultures together, it is still that people listen to tunes and rhythms from all around the world, hence introducing themselves to a wide variety of cultural facts. Additionally, it also gives people a chance to learn new languages resulting in bringing nations closer. This is exemplified by the fact that many Indians who listen to international music such as Korean or Spanish songs, are familiar with the language and culture of Korea and Spain respectively.
With regard to connecting different age groups, music can be seen as equally enjoyed by children, adults and older population alike particularly during celebrations, gathering and functions, which are incomplete without songs.
A good example for this is the ritual of conducting ‘Sangeet’ as a pre wedding function just for all groups of people to come together and perform exciting dance numbers and song performances.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that melodies and harmonies are crucial bonding tools linking cultures, languages, ethnicities and different age groups.
