Nowadays, football matches can be enjoyed both in person and on digital devices such as televisions or smartphones. However, some people think that watching the match in person has become obsolete due to the availability of these devices, while others argue that football can’t be fully enjoyed unless watched in person. In this essay, I will discuss both opinions and explain why I think watching the game digitally is ultimately the better option.
On the one hand, going to see a football match is an exhilerating experience. Not only does it allow for high immersion in the game by providing you with live action and commentary, you’ll be able to witness your favourite player’s skills in person too. For dedicated football fans, this is certainly the most obvious choice to pick in order to support their favourite team. However, they’re not alone in their thinking, as many other people will also try to go to the stadium to support their own team, which often results in overcrowding and inflated prices for the good seats as a result of high demand.
On the other hand, enjoying football digitally offers unsurpassable convenience. Because of the internet, we can easily access footage of matches on the other side of the globe from anywhere and anytime. Instead of having to commute to a stadium and endure large crowds, you can just relax at home while still being able to stay up to date with the details. Furthermore, tickets to stadiums are often extremely expensive due to high demand, so we can save huge sums of money by enjoying the match online.
In conclusion, while both options has its advantages, I still prefer relaxing in my home more than having to put up with noisy crowds and spending a fortune on tickets.
