Some people believe that parents should limit children’s time watching TV and playing computer games, while others think children should spend more time reading books. I partly agree with this opinion because both activities have advantages, but reading books is more useful for children’s future.
On the one hand, watching TV and playing computer games can be entertaining and relaxing for children. After school, children feel tired and these activities help them to rest their mind. Also, some educational TV programs and games can improve children’s knowledge and problem-solving skills. However, if children spend too much time on screens, it can affect their health, such as eye problems and lack of physical activity.
On the other hand, reading books is very important for children’s development. Books help children to improve their vocabulary, grammar and imagination. For example, children who read books regularly usually perform better at school and can express their ideas more clearly. In addition, reading helps children to focus for a longer time, which is an important skill in life. Unlike computer games, books do not make children addicted easily.
In my opinion, parents should limit screen time and encourage children to read books more. This does not mean children should stop watching TV or playing games completely, but these activities should be controlled. A balance between reading and entertainment is the best solution.
In conclusion, I believe reading books is more beneficial than watching TV and playing computer games, and parents should guide children to use their time wisely.
