Some say that buses, trolleybuses, and metros are the most vital part of the city, whereas others believe that many other aspects are more crucial than the public transportation system. While some would argue that the public transportation system is necessary, I firmly believe that other aspects of a city are more useful than the public transportation system.
On the one hand, the impact of the public transportation system on people’s lives is now high. It can allow citizens not to spend huge amounts of money buying cars and provides them with cheap journeys across a town. Additionally, improving the quality of buses is most beneficial because it can reduce air pollution as the number of people who used to drive their personal transports will utilize buses instead. For example, in Switzerland, underground railways are considered a crucial part of citizens’ lives; thereby, reducing congestion and air pollution and improving financial stability. However, I believe that there are numerous fields in which states’ investments are more required.
On the other hand, there are many fields, such as medicine, the military, and science, that are more significant than the public transportation system and require financial support from governments. If monetary investments are spent in these fields, the benefits that will occur can definitely outweigh those of the public transportation system. For instance, although the United Kingdom has poor public transportation, this country is famous because of its well-developed medicine and advanced technologies that benefit its citizens. I believe that paying more attention to other fields rather than to metros and buses is much more vital and beneficial for cities’ quality.
In conclusion, even though the public transportation system is an integral part of individuals’ lives, I think that its importance should not be overestimated, and more attention should be given to other lagging sectors.
