In contemporary discourse, some individuals argue that showing violence in the media can influence society violence. I fully agree with this viewpoint. The showing of violence in media makes someone less sensitive with others and can illustrate depiction to individual making a violence.
Firstly, the omnipresence of violence in media platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, games, newspaper, and film meke someone unaware of individuals behaviour problems. Over repetition showing violence with explicit image in media makes somebody do not care about problems which happened in society. It can numb the sensitivity which is important to be present individuals. For instance, studies reported that there are correlation between showing violence in media and impolite of young generation in Indonesia for long time. Most of youth age consider the violent action normal because they show the action in media for long time.
In addition, media illustrations often offer the normalization of violence. It can make some people think that they can do it in other time. They have some inspirations of ways to make the violent when they have a opportunities. Meanwhile, they can plan it well when they want to do the action. Data, on Indonesia’s newspaper, informed that a lot of teenagers in Jakarta, one of big cities in Indonesia, was stolen when people were sleeping. The total of teenagers who stole in 2 am increased around 15 per cent.
In conclution, I totally agree with the argument that showing violent in media can influence people to do some violations.
