In contemporary society, a controversial debate has emerged among many individuals regarding whether the contents of TV programs have impacts on children’s attitudes or the time that they spend on it. This essay will evaluate both perspectives before articulating my own viewpoint, which favors the idea that time is more significant element in this regard.
On the one hand, those supporting the idea that the type of films are more effective point to the fact that, children have higher level of learning abilities, which lead them to learn easily and fast from those contents. They assert that children can be interested to programs with inappropriate matters in television films, leading them to behave in that way. For example, violent movies are not only inspiring for teenagers but also exciting, encouraging them to play aggressively.
Conversely, advocates for the idea that time spending on TV is more influential believe that youngsters with higher quantity of time watching their favorite shows are interacting more with low quality programs or uneducational programs; therefore, they have a tendency to act and imitate such behaviors. As a result they repeat those actions enthusiastically. Moreover, they state that it can be time-wasting for children to spend their valuable time on meaningless contents on TV, which has no relevant with their studies and lead them to lose their concentration, resulting the youth in being distracted.
Overall, while both perspectives present their own merits, I am inclined to support the viewpoint that emphasizes the importance of the time that children allocate to the programs, because the more they spend their valuable time on TV, the more they tend to act like their favorite celebrity, which can be detrimental for their lives, behaving in such ways. Although the content of films is regarded one of the most essential parts of movies, the amount of time which is spent on them should be taken into consideration.
