Band 6+: Some people suggest that the government should spend money putting more works of art like paintings and statues into towns and cities to make them attractive places. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is believed by some individuals that governments should focus their financial spending on improving placement of famous works of art like paintings and statues in cities to show better performance of living regions. I partially agree with this idea and will show my position on his topic.

In one hand, governments should attend to our culture, it is very necessary for our society, and it depicts our respect and our cultural values as art works. Firstly, it helps the young generation understand their country’s history and heritage. They are looking for works and accepting this historical information can make them pride of their country or to inspire them with some creative works. Moreover, these changes can encourage a large number of tourists to come to our city and to visit places renowned for their works of art.

On the other hand, however governments spending a lot of money to upgrade the city’s traditional and cultural identity, not all people will aid this idea. The main reason of that is people who do not like or prefer art. In that case it can lead to a lot of controversy by like-minded people who are not fascinated by art. Furthermore, some originals claim that it is unnecessary to spend money on these activities instead of spending them to some essential aspects, like education, medicine, or a lot of different city factors that can be improved.

In conclusion, I would like to say that even if it is going to improve the city’s cultural performance, there are individuals who are making disagreements and arguments about that. My position is more to second opinion, that it is not a good idea to spend so much money on art works.
