In the contemporary world, where technology has been dominant, it is debatable whether books are maintained as a source of entertainment and knowledge. While some people believe that books are no longer of great importance, others contend that books are significantly important. Although many people cannot find enough time to read books due to the modern busy lifestyle, I am firmly of the opinion that books play a pivotal role in enhancing information and leisure.
Books are undeniably enjoyable when they are delivering an emotional or thought-provoking story. Individuals who read books as a source of fun and joy are keen on reading novels, police stories, or crime and thriller books. Reading these types of books offers an imaginary world where people can be genuinely emotional or thought-provoked with a rush of adrenaline while reading thriller stories, such as Agatha Christie’s books. Therefore, it cannot be said that books are useless, regarding entertainment.
Furthermore, books are a rich source of various information in many diverse aspects of life. Mostly all developments in medicine, science, technology, and space exploration are recorded and conserved in books. Doctors, for instance, can pursue the newest guidelines and treatment in the up to date medical books. Similarly, researchers can reach all scientific advancements and experimental outputs through reading relevant books. Thus, it cannot be denied that books are the most essential source of developing person’s cognitive function and knowledge.
In conclusion, whether books are informatively beneficial and enjoyable has been arguably a topic of crucial debate. Notwithstanding that the number of voracious readers may have declined due to modernization, I am inclined to disagree that books are losing their value, regarding information and entertainment. Not only do they offer a hugely accessible amount of scientific material, but they also serve as a leisure time friend.
