It is often debated whether employers should be strict on their employees uniform whereas others believe that the quality of their work is actually what makes a sense. Personally, I completely disagree with this view due to several reasons.
It is true that government is introducing strict rules requiring all employees in every sector to wear a standard uniform. Wearing a uniform can shape employees’ professional identity and serve as a constant reminder that they are in a workplace setting. Furthermore, uniforms foster a sense of equality and help prevent discrimination among workers, which is crucial for effective collaborating among staff. For example, in many companies, standard uniforms minimize visible differences, which helps employees feel equal and work together more efficiently.
From my own perspective, I believe that creating a comfortable working environment for employees can bring significant benefits to companies in many ways. When the needs of every worker met, productivity tends to increase significantly. Wearing a standard uniform may restrict employees’ freedom at work, which can have a negative impact on the quality of their performance. When individuals do not feel constrained, they are more likely to concentrate fully on their work. Because what truly matters is the outcome. For example, in creative fields like design, allowing employees to dress comfortably can improve their focus and performance.
In conclusion, while some people advocate greater control over employees’ appearance at work through uniforms, I believe that creating a comfortable working environment is more beneficial in terms of employees’ performance.
