The discussion on the topic whether school graduates should take a gap year or not have been everywhere recently. One says that they should prolong their adolescence and do whatever they want, others insist on going to the university as quicker as possible to get a degree. Both of these ideas are accurate and have advantages as well as disadvantages. However, I want to provide my opinion on this topic.
First of all, sometimes students take a gap year in order to relax and live for themselves for a tiny period of time and it is understandable. They are simply tired of schooling and do not want to continue their studies. In order to manage this stress they decide to travel, stay with their family, work and just enjoy life. In addition, this year can be the best out of whole life of a person. In my point of view, it is not that matter whether you apply to the university directly after school or in a year. What is more, such people have more time to prepare for the enrolment campaign.
On the other hand, going to the university immediately after school offers a wide range of opportunities for the future. For instance, it can be metal strength to the surroundings, separation from parents at young age, so such student will be able to struggle with all the difficulties in an easier way, etc.
To conclude, I would like to say that it is up to students to decide whether they want to continue their studies or take a gap year. But personally, if I had a chance, I would definitely travel and work for a period of time after graduation. It offers a wide range of emotions, confidence and experience for the future.
