History is one of the vital aspects in our lives. It tells us about all things that happened in the past, for instance, about wars, revolutions of mankind, their lifestyles, economic, social development. Undoubtedly, the present is connected with the past, so to better understand current situations we need knowledge about former times. Moreover, it is highly debatable issue whether history is necessary for us or not, because some people disagree with previous notions and they argue that it is useless. In this essay I will examine both sides of these arguments in detail.
It is obvious that time cannot be returned and no one can change the past. However, we can study history and do not repeat some kind of mistakes again. For instance, the greatest military leader Amir Temur lost the battle at the first time due to his own faults. After he had analyzed his own mistakes, he came to a good conclusion and by changing strategy he won the battle. With this example we can achieve clear that learning history not as much as pointless.
Other individuals who are of the opinion that studying the history is just waste of time, can not understand its whole essence. In addition, they argue that past actions very differ from present and these two points do not have any bonds. For example, they can say that all wars about which we taught in educational institutions are futile information but they do not take into account the fact that probably by knowing that this ends badly for everyone, there are no terrible wars like World War II.
To sum up, despite all features, history is the main knowledge for all of us. In fact, without past there are no ways to ideal future. Furthermore, the present is a continuation of the past, and someday our present will become the past for someone.
