There are those who believe that history may give us nothing or just a small part to tell, while others hold the opinion that the past is a great tool to perceive the present. While some people say that past should stay in the past and there is little sense to go back in times, this essay would argue that it is better to study historical facts to know past history, origin and culture and even how to avoid past mistakes in present.
On the one hand, we leave in present and there is no sense to go back in times and dwell on it. That is to say, we should concentrate more on our current problems rather than what happened in the past. Furthermore, past events may negatively reflect on what can people do now. As the evidence suggest, people may penetrate into the information about the revolutions and then interpret them badly and repeat the same actions now. However, I think that this may be rather controversial and we can research not only bad things but good examples as well.
On the other hand, who we are without a history of out ancestors? We are like leaves of the tree without a trunk. This is because we must know our origin, the history of the place, where we leave, some important dates and facts. Furthermore, if we deep into the history we may draw a lesson from the past and this can be as an exemplifying thing to avoid now. For example, History as a subject is not in vain included into school curriculum in every country as one of the most important subjects. Kazakhstani educational system includes both Whole world history and History of Kazakhstan. I take the view that learning history one of the ways to expand our horizons.
To conclude, although existing bad examples in the history may influence people in a negative way, there are much more positive things to highlight and understand the real world.
