In this contemporary world, the view on the benefits of artificial intelligence has sparked considerable debate. While some argue that it will have a positive effect on people’s lives due to its benefits in our day-to-day activities, others believe otherwise. In my opinion, I support the latter, as individuals are becoming overly dependent on it.
On the one hand, some individuals believe Ai will make a positive impact because it will enable learners to have access to learning materials swiftly. This is owing to the fact that many individuals would tend to use this application to conduct research in their various fields and get results immediately. As a result, they do not only save the cost of commuting to traditional learning centres, but also broaden their knowledge. For instance, in the academic world, learners as well as professionals will use chatgpt and other online brainbox for research purposes at a subsidized rate. Therefore, such sites are considered beneficial in everyday life.
On the other hand, despite its benefits, some people think its presence will cause more harm due to over dependent, which I believe. Nowadays, people are likely to become increasingly dependent on this application to work on their project, and this trend may limit critical thinking abilities. For example, many students hardly do their homework without involving Ai unlike in the past, and this sometimes result to poor performance during exams. Furthermore, frequent exposure to screen could lead to blur vision.
In conclusion, although artificial intelligence will be beneficial to individual, as it promotes learning, I argue that its presence will be detrimental to learners due to increase in dependant rate, which may affect student’s ability to think independently.
