Some people believe that nowadays, children are having plenty of free time that should be utilized in reading more and more. Well, I do not agree completely with the statement. I think that instead of spending all of the time on studies, they should spend it in some exciting games which are also very important for kid’s health and mental growth.
The advantages of study cannot be overstated. Children are exposed to education in their earlier age and they can easily recognize the words by the age of five years. Studying educational books in their idle time is an excellent way to keep them busy. But to engage them all of the time in studying will eventually make them exhausted.
Currently, children spend a lot of their free time in watching cartoons and making videos on their mobile phones which is affecting their physical and mental. In order to reduce the screen time, it is necessary to introduce some interactive games like, chess, monopoly and scrabble game for their leisure time. By playing these games they can not only interact with their friends but also feel happy and connected with each other.
To conclude, I do not fully agree with the school of thought that kids are emphasized to read more when they have free time. Instead of spending all of time to study more, such activities should be introduced which help in their physical and mental growth. To better utilize this time, they should be encouraged to spend it wisely in playing good outdoor sports e.g. football, badminton, cricket etc. and brain engaging games like building blocks etc. Because physical activity is also very important in the kid’s growth and development.
