It is argued by some people that it is recommended for students to use technology during lessons. While others prefer traditional teaching methods. I believe that although traditional teaching offers large amount of structured material, gadgets make learning a more involving process.
One common view is that traditional teaching methods such as lecturing can convey structured information, which is organized in convenient ways for obtaining information by different groups of people. Teachers can give the information relying on the students’ abilities and interests. So, traditional teaching tends to imply individual approach. Also, as traditional teaching methods are centered around the teacher, children are freed from searching for the data on their own, so it is hardly possible that they find some incorrect and misleading information. Moreover, it is believed that technology should be banned during lessons as students can be distracted from studying.
However, others believe that children should be enabled to use technology in the classroom. Firstly, electronic gadgets are able to make lessons more lively and engaging because videos and different applications can provide visual images which help perceive the material better. Secondly, using technology at lessons help students obtain information more easily and faster. I completely agree with this point of view. In order to not distract children, the time for technology should be restricted.
I personally believe that technology is advisable for using in the classroom because high-tech devices help both students and teachers make lessons more involving and diverse. As during lessons children are not centered only on a teacher, but they can take part and influence the process of studying. In addition, using technology suggests by far more various activities than traditional teaching methods.
