Since the world has evolved into a global village, it is an undeniable fact that the world is facing some serious competition, whether in the cooperative sector, academics, or daily life. Every individual is running in this long competitive race with a solid goal in his or her mind. In this essay, I intend to explore the possible causes of this situation and suggest some ways forward.
It is true to say that the level of innovation and advancement the world has achieved has significantly affected the high amount of hunger among individuals for success and accomplishment. Consequently, it has boosted competition and challenges in every aspect of life, which is, to some extent, assumed to be a good thing. In my perception, it is now essential to be well educated, highly skilled, and have great determination for desired achievement, as per the increased level of difficulty in professional careers. This compels every individual to put his or her level best of hard work and effort in order to legitimately get success, which is a good sign for being self-esteemed, confident, and staying dedicated.
In other words, there are some cons to this scenario as well. Many sectors are experiencing unnecessary hype of competition that gives rise to demotivation, depression, and stress. This issue can be cogently argued in schools and colleges, where students are categorized and treated based upon their academic performance, which is not fair at all, as every student has his or her own unique qualities that cannot be compared irrationally. This unfair competition, whether in school or offices, may affect one’s performance, give birth to envy, and cause mental health problems.
To put it in a nutshell, I conclude by saying that what has been discussed above may draw a conclusion that competition as a challenge is necessary in life in order to develop personal abilities and improve ourselves, but taking this to an illegitimate height would create severe and detrimental circumstances.
