Some advocates argue that disseminating the public the harmful aspects of fast food can help them not to consume it, while others believe that the act of education only will not be feasible. In my view, while teaching people can yield positive outcomes, the ubiquity of food apps will stimulate consumers to purchase it easily that propagation will not entirely work.
Admittedly, people who argue the effectiveness of teaching citizens the detrimental effects of processed food have their own justifications, chief of which is consumers might adopt healthier dietary patterns. In fact, the overconsumption of food can likely cause serious health issues, such as high blood pressure or chronic diseases. For instance, if Nivocado Avocado would have stopped making mukbang videos and thoroughly adjust his dietary choices, the likelihood of enhancing his overall well-being could have been more possible; due to the fact that he was examined to have severe health issues which were mainly derived from his poor eating habits while doing Youtube. Therefore, disseminating food consumers to increase the amount of nutritious food and vegetation in their daily meals can help raise people’s awareness the pivotal role that being more health-conscious will enhance their life quality.
However, I believe that education will not be a wise solution when in the contemporary era, lots of food apps are persisted and being widely used by the public. In Vietnam, for example, an app namely ShopeeFood still retains its popularity in allowing multiple food categories, ranging from fresh food to snacks, to be purchased. But the current tendency that youngsters often incline to order junk food as a late-night snack is common because they are the target audiences of those apps and pulling an all-nighter is what younger generations might to fulfill their tasks or homework. Thus, even if healthier food options were promoted, a number of users would keep ordering food as to how fast-delivered and palatable the food were, and processed food and snacks would continue to be consumed in the long run.
In conclusion, while propagating residents how harmful that unhealthy snacks and calorie-dense food can effect people’s well-being to a degree, I believe that the emergence of food apps will trigger consumers to continuously purchase their food.
