A certain group of individuals thinks that governments should supply jobless citizens with telephones and internet access in order to increase their chances of finding jobs. In this essay, I will elucidate why I am certain that such an idea is ineffective.
To begin, improving the availability of gadgets may worsen the economic situations of countries. To clarify, telephones and swift internet access are not affordable, and due to the number of unemployed people, the essential amount of money for realization is even higher than assumed. If governments allocated funds for this concept, it would be irrational use, since there is a myriad of other crucial sectors like healthcare, education, or the IT industry. In other words, enhancing other important fields would be much more beneficial, because their impact on society and development is more significant.
Regarding previous experience, in the modern world, some authorities have already implemented special programmes in order to support unemployed individuals, but the outcome hasn’t been satisfying. To illustrate, an annual survey in Kazakhstan, conducted by egov, does not demonstrate substantial improvements in employment rates, with only 5% improvement compared to the beginning of the project. These results indicate that most people might not use the given priorities for development or finding a job. To conclude, I am convinced that governments should concentrate on other sectors rather than spending money on jobless people. It would be much better to wisely distribute finances for future development and campaigns, which could potentially influence unemployment rates in a positive way.
