Some people argue that authorities should allocate more funding to sports facilities for professional athletes, while others believe that this money should be spent on sport facilities for ordinary people. I side with the latter opinion.
On the one hand, spending more money on sports facilities for elite sportsmen is related to encouragement. It is clear that if the gyms are well equipped with the latest sports equipment, athletes can train professionally, and this encourages sportsmen to be accountable and motivated. With the help of professional facilities, athletes can train more effectively and achieve a high position in their sport. As a result, these opportunities may lead elite athletes to feel a sense of pride and do their best in competitions. Another reason for allocating more money to the facilities of top sportsmen is prevention. In some cases, participants who live in developing countries attend tournaments on behalf of other countries due to a lack of adequate equipment.
Despite these arguments, I believe that governments should place greater importance on funding sports facilities for local people. This provides people with equality in an egalitarian society. It is undeniable that ordinary people also deserve to use well-equipped gyms or a sports complex, and they can exercise after a long working day, which in turn helps to increase the number of physically and mentally healthy people in the community. Additionally, investing in sports equipment for ordinary people helps to discover talented and skillful young athletes. If young people train in modern sports halls, they have a chance to reach their full potential, which may enable coaches to discover talented athletes.
In conclusion, although spending money on sports equipment for top sportsmen is beneficial for encouragement and prevention, I believe that these investments play a crucial role in creating equality in society and discovering young talents among ordinary people.
