It is argued that the government should show regard for addressing environmental and housing challenges to safeguard human well-being. I strongly agree with this viewpoint.
To begin with, several chronic illnesses have been attributed to environmental problems in recent years. Firstly, air pollution can be considered a major contributor to health issues. An increasing number of personal vehicles results in a significant rise in the amount of carbon dioxide, causing respiratory diseases such as asthma or cough. Accordingly, governments should impose heavy fines on drivers to encourage them to utilize public transportation, decreasing CO2 emissions, thereby strengthening human wellness. Secondly, water pollution affects adversely human health via eating. Indeed, fish consuming multiple contaminants from water bodies can serve as food for human beings, causing digestive diseases. Hence, raising awareness of how to protect marine species should lie with governments’ responsibility.
In addition, housing problems pose a high risk of human health deterioration. People can spend a huge amount of time living in their homes, so substandard housing can facilitate the emergence of numerous sicknesses. For instance, mosquitos can make use of dirty areas or wet household items to breed, leading to the contagion of malaria among family members. Regarding this issue, local authorities should motivate residents to clean their houses on a regular basis. Besides, health programs should be broadcast with the presence of health experts to disseminate necessary knowledge about how to dispose of causes of illnesses from housing problems.
In conclusion, I concur with this statement, since to protect society’s health, authorities should deal with challenges regarding the environment and housing.
