In recent years, it is believed that it would be very advantageous for youngsters if they get paid for their work, however, some individuals oppose this idea that it may effect negatively on them. I firmly believe that benefits of getting money for work far outweigh the drawbacks.
Admittedly, there are some basic disadvantages associated with getting paid for young people. One of the most significant downside is distraction, especially in young people’s academic achievements. As they are most vulnerable layers of the society and it may ruin their academic performance at school. For instance, when it comes to choose learning or earning mostly people appreciate earning because learning requires long hours and consistent effort. Another disadvantage is that pursing some bad habits because of lack of enough knowledge about life experiences. The environment may change significantly when youngsters earn money, there may exist more wants and needs. As a result, some may tase harmful drugs or cigarettes, which leads to health problems and addictions.
Nevertheless, I believe that the advantages of earning money from young age overshadow its potential disadvantages. The primary benefit is that children start to lean how to manage their money responsibly. When they are supported by money for their hard work, it may provoke inner economical ability of young people. This knowledge can be enlarged with different strategies at the beginning, but they will obtain lifelong experience about how to spend money. In addition, while youngsters get paid for their work, it gives them chance to establish new skills like financial literacy. The most valuable part of this is that young children can learn how to spend their money wisely in order not to waste it. In turn, they learn about savings and investments. Common example is that extra savings that can help them to start saving for new school supplies. As a result of this young generation will have a higher interest in saving than wasting their income.
In conclusion, although allowing youngsters to earn money may come with certain risks, I argue that it has greater long-term benefits, particularly in terms of financial independence and literacy.
