Some individuals claim that it is crucial to have journeys to different places in order to get informed about traditions, while others think that they can get enough knowledge about various cultures from books, movies and the internet. I mostly agree with the idea of the importance of traveling to learn cultures.
On the one hand, to travel to other places would not be beneficial for those who would like to save their money and who cannot afford it due to their financial drawbacks. They can save more money by reading books, watching movies and researching on web. Additionally, they can face unethical reactions from locals which is definitely not favorable. Moreover, It would be too hard to adapt the culture for conservative ones, we basically just can read reviews of people who have been to those places about different cultures.
On the other hand, learning traditions by traveling would provide us with some valuable skills, such as improvement in communication and interaction with local people. It is recommended by some famous sociologists. In most cases travelers are way more qualified about cultures than internet researchers since the internet can provide flawed data sometimes and by reading others’ views about the culture, would make it more subjective than objective and misinform us.
In conclusion, according to the views of some individuals, traveling is favorable to get enough information about other cultures, others argue that books, the internet, and films are way better sources. I agree with the view of the importance of traveling due to some considerably crucial skills.
