Many believe that cognitive strength is the most significant aspect to be great in sports, while others argue that it is better to have physical strength. This essay agrees that being physically fit doesn’t always opens the way to success, and that mental strength plays a crucial role in it.
One of the primary reasons why having a strong body is not the key to success in sports is that, sometimes in competitions there may occur tough circumstances, which are cannot be handled without careful sinking out every outcome. For instance, in a football, possessing great physique doesn’t always mean that you can score a goal, whether you are able to outrun your opponents or not. However, if the team plans out every details carefully, which obviously points to the mental involvement, and will follow that instruction, the team may get ahead.
Another reason why I disagree with body fit as the most important factor is that a large number of greatest athletes weren’t actually great in physique. Take Formula One rookies as an example. They are often weak by physical capabilities, though they frequently manage to finish races in points, for example, by staying focused on an opponent ahead and overtaking him when he opens.
In conclusion, while society argues that to be great in sports, athletes should be in good physical conditions or have to be mentally strong, I believe cognitive strength, plays more crucial role to success in sports. My overall view is that considering great physique as a key to success is a mistake, and that being ahead by intelligence is more vital.
