Some people think that parents are responsible for children’s behaviors while others believe that school should be the one who takes the responsibility. Parents’ behavior reflects a lot on their children since they were the closest people to them. School also plays a great role in a child’s social journey at some points but it doesn’t contribute as much as parents’. Thus, as for me, I strongly believe that parents’ guidelines are the main factors of whether a child is a good member of society or not because parents are always the first teachers of a child’s life.
On one hand, kids can face both positive things and negative things while attending the school. Most of the time, schools tend to have a reward system to those who do well academically and well-behave, alongside a punishment system where they get some sort of penalties when they misbehave. This may be effective to some extent. For example, if a student gets a penalty for misbehaving, peer students will be ashamed or scared of getting one. Then, it will lead them to follow the social rules and encourage them to be a well-mannered kid. Nevertheless, I do not think this is a good example to show to a kid as some punishments might push the kids from following the rules and can badly affect their mental health, making it less effective for a child to become a great person.
On the contrary, parents’ are usually the role models of their kids and they interact a ton of time with their kids. Spending time together frequently, they became the nearest people to their children. Normally, kids reflect their parents’ habits due to that reason. Parents should set good examples in front of their kids so that the kids will follow to do the same. For instance, if parents use soft language when talking, the kid can become gentle and polite when communicating with others as well. Or when the father helps the mother with houseworks, the kids will also try to do the same. By creating a positive environment for children, they will grow up as kind and helpful people in the community.
To conclude, I fully believe that parents should take care of their child’s behaviors as children always learn new habits from their nearest society.
