The issues related to high competition in schools are frequently discussed these days. In many institutions, students are pressured by their families to achieve high scores, which can create significant stress. However, some people believe that a competitive environment can motivate learners to study more actively. Both perspectives will be explored in this essay.

On the one hand, there is no doubt that excessive competition in schools has many drawbacks. For instance, children may experience stress, anxiety, and a fear of failure, which can lead to mental health problems and a lack of interest in attending school. A high-pressure environment may also discourage creativity and collaboration, as students may focus solely on excelling in their academic records rather than working together. If children fail to meet their family’s expectations in exams, it can have serious effects on their mental well-being.

On the other hand, encouraging a competitive educational environment can be a powerful motivator and offer various benefits. Students who work hard may have better opportunities in the future than those who do not study as diligently. Furthermore, students in competitive settings often display good behavior and manners, potentially leading to their growth into outstanding individuals who can contribute positively to society.

In my opinion, studying in a highly competitive environment can lead to academic success. However, the key is to find a balance. Families should not only encourage their children to excel but also support collaboration among peers. This practice helps develop communication skills, which are crucial in the real world.
