Some believe that the government should pay the creative citizens of their country, such as artists and musicians. I can see both views, but in my opinion the government should increase the support of the creative kind.
There are a couple key factors to the support of this argument. The first of which, is that these people are the ones who continue to carry on the legacy and culture of a country. They create art, whether it be music, stories, films, or artwork — they all are the foundation of a nation, preserving their heritage. If creators do not have the necessary aid, then they won’t be able to provide art for the future generations to maintain. Moreover, various art may boost a countries popularity, which could result in more tourists visiting, which means that the economy grows. People are interested in the museums with different sculptures and paintings, ready to spend money just to see these beauties in person. Others may be interested in the creative writing or music of a country and by promoting them, they also promote the country. If a creator is supported by the government at the start of his career, then when he gets succesful he will have to pay taxes that supports the country even further. As a result, the government could see these payments as an investment.
In contrast, those who oppose argue that paying artists would result in funds being spent in an unwisely manner. They believe that other areas that could seem to impact our lives more, such as healthcare, unemployment, and city repairs, would be at risk of having their budget cut. This is a valid concern, so the government should make sure to aid the startups of creators, without having other components of our life at stake.
In summary, although there may be some concerns regarding the idea, it is possible to help the creative population without losses in any areas. Therefore, from my perspective the government should help with the funding of new artists.
