In recent years, there has been ongoing debate about whether the government should invest in roads or public transportation. Some people argue that the government should prioritize investing in public transportation, while others believe that funds should be allocated to improve roads. Although enhancing road infrastructure may reduce traffic congestion and increase social activity, I believe that the government should focus on investing in public transportation.
One reason way some people argue that government should prioritize investing in public transportation is that it reduces the need for private cars and directly leads decreasing vehicles on the roads. Public transportation system, like busses and trains allow more people to travel without private cars this help reduce traffic and pollution. For example, in cities like Tokyo public transportation is used by millions which help reduce traffic congestion and keep air clean. Therefore investing in public transportation is the best way to reduce traffic and pollution in cities.
On the other hand, some people believe that the government should spend money on improving roads instead of public transportation. They argue that better roads can benefit to everyone including those who use private cars buses and delivery vehicles. Good road condition reduced traffic jam and accidents making thrilled faster and safer. For example in many cities with poor infrastructure dud roads cause of daily delays and even the demage vehicles living extra cost for drivers. Therefore improving road networks can directly improve transportation efficiency for the whole population.
In conclusion, while some people think improving roads benefit all drivers , others including myself believe public transportation should be prioritized because it reduced traffic and pollution more effectively in the long run
