A significant number of people opine that it is necessary to teach children how to be good members of society in schools, while other believe the primary goal of schools should be giving academic lessons. I believe that it is not schools duty to give lessons regarding societal vales, but it is their duty to give proper academic knowledge as the world is becoming competitive day by day.
There are a number of plausible reasons why helping children to become good members of society. To begin with, encouraging young people to contribute to community works, schools can develop a sense of responsibilities in children’s minds. As a result, they would not only take part in societal tasks but also become more responsible in their personal lives. In addition, the fact that schools give lessons regarding values, honesty, etiquettes indicates that these will help students to become ideal members of society. For instance, when young children keep thier honesty at every step of their lives, they can change a scoiety by their positive spirit.
However, those who are against this argue that additional lessons at school may reduce the academic learnings, which could harm students result that is quite crucial in job sector. This is because, nowadays job market are very competitive if someone wants to get a job, it essential to have the best educational qualification. Moreover, students should learn some practical skills at school as the priority of skills is very high. As a consequence, if teacher focus on giving knowledge how to be good at scoiety, they may not be able to teach practical skills that would put students in difficulties.
In conclusion, although giving lessons about societal vales at schools can be helpful, providing academic knowledge and teaching practical skills is way more beneficial. Therefore, I believe that schools should focus on academic subjects because parents can teach their children how to be ideal members of society.
