Band 8+: Some people think that too much money is spent on the protection of wild animals ,and that this could be better spent on the human population

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is widely believed by some that a substantial amount of time and financial resources are allocated towards the preservation of wild animals, and there is a suggestion that these resources could be more effectively utilized for addressing human needs. From my perspective, I partially agree with the notion that resources should be directed towards addressing human challenges.

On one hand, the necessity of investing in the protection of wild animals is understandable. The primary argument in support of this perspective is the increasing endangerment of numerous species worldwide. Various natural and human-induced factors such as natural disasters, habitat loss, and food scarcity have contributed to the rising number of endangered species. Governments and individuals mobilize funds and conduct campaigns to mitigate the risk of extinction of these animals and preserve biodiversity. Furthermore, wild animals play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, influencing both the animal kingdom and human populations. Thus, conserving wild animals is crucial for sustainable human development.

Conversely, I am of the opinion that the substantial financial resources currently allocated for wildlife protection could be redirected towards addressing various human societal issues. One primary reason for this reallocation is the prevalence of numerous social issues affecting communities today. The field of medicine, for instance, requires significant investments, as several severe diseases lack effective treatments. Allocating funds towards research for curing these illnesses is essential for ensuring public health and well-being. Additionally, investing in education is imperative. Enhancing the level of education among individuals can raise awareness on a multitude of pressing issues, including wildlife conservation. This heightened awareness can lead to increased human efforts to protect animals and minimize harmful activities that impact wildlife. These investments in healthcare and education are pivotal for enhancing the overall quality of human life.

In conclusion, while there are valid arguments supporting the allocation of resources for wildlife conservation to preserve biodiversity and ecological balance, I contend that prioritizing the allocation of these resources towards addressing human challenges is paramount. This is because humans play a crucial role in society and their well-being is essential for societal progress.
