It is often believed that visiting is the only way to acquire knowledge about various places, whereas others argued that it can be gained through books and travel docomentaries. In my opinion, travel is more helpfull as it provides real interaction with the culture compared with the theoritical knowledge. This essay will discuss both ways in detail.
To commence with, travelling provides real interaction with the culture. Visiting different places allows people to observe the lifestyle of residents which has a significant impact on their learning about foreign values. Moreover, communication with the native folks is indenpensable to gain information about their traditions and rituals along with provinding insights about their significance. For instance, watching videos does not make someone a swimmer unless they get into the pool. Similarly, moving to the area is more helpful to learn about their culture.
On the contrary, books and docomentaries provides a convenient way to learn about various places. Firslty, travelling needs more time making it hard for people with hectic schedules to gather time to visit far away places. However, reading and watching videos can provide a lots of knowledge in less time by sitting at home. Furthermore, it also saves money as travelling includes flight tickets, hotels and other expenses, while docomentaries and journals are a cheaper source. For instance, I learned a lot about Canada before I came here by watching videos and blogs. Therefore, one can aquire knowledge about culture through books.
In conclusion, although reading and docomentaries are helpful in gaining experience about different nations, but I believe travelling is better option since it offers real communication and interaction with the culture.
