Band 7+: some people want government to spend money on life on other planets, however, others think it is a waste of public money when the earth has so many problems. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

There is a contentious debate regarding whether governments should allocate funds towards the exploration of life on other planets or focus on addressing pressing issues on Earth such as healthcare and education. Proponents of extraterrestrial exploration argue that it is a worthwhile investment in technological advancement, while opponents assert that it represents a wasteful diversion of public resources. From my perspective, I am inclined to support the latter view, as I believe that governments should prioritize addressing urgent needs on Earth.

Supporters of space exploration believe that it can lead to important advancements in technology and science. They say that activities in space have resulted in key developments, such as satellites and the study of celestial bodies like the moon. But it’s important to recognize that these achievements are expensive and require a lot of resources and expertise that could be used for more pressing issues.

The world is dealing with the effects of COVID-19, which has shown how important healthcare and a stable economy are. The pandemic has put a lot of pressure on healthcare and caused big economic problems. It’s important for governments and citizens to work together to lessen its effects. So, spending money on space exploration instead of these important things is a waste of resources.

To sum up, I believe that governments should focus on solving important problems like healthcare, education, and the economy instead of spending a lot of money on space exploration. It’s important to use resources wisely to keep countries healthy and successful, so using public funds for space exploration instead of these urgent issues wouldn’t be smart or responsible.
