In the contemporary world, there are many people who believe that news has no relevance to most individuals and that it is just a waste of time for people to read and watch news on television or in newspapers. From my perspective, I strongly disagree with this opinion.
First of all, it can be seen that news still plays a vital role in individuals’ lives. To clarify, news reports serve as a tool that provides citizens with a source of information about several social and natural phenomena that directly affect people’s daily lives, such as political decisions or changing weather. For example, thanks to online news, residents in Japan could prepare food and shelter timely to avoid earthquakes. In addition, news also allows people to enhance their live’s quality by introducing many new cutting edge products like vacuum robots or self-driving cars.
Secondly, communication and news also contribute a significant part in exposing and resisting certain misconduct activities of governments or organizations. For instance, after being hurled by journalism and gaining many objections, the Formosa company had to stop its polluting pursuits, retaining the fresh environment for citizens. Furthermore, by reading and watching news, people can be more sociable and convenient when communicating. To clarify, with knowledge about happend of the world through news, individuals can extend their topic conversation when socializing with friends.
In conclusion, news on papers or online is still necessary for people in conveying important information about natural disasters and new devices. Besides, it also exposes negative activities of some councils and enhances communication skills in people.
