It is widely believed that students can develop essential life skills such as time management and interpersonal skills, which are rarely acquired through formal education alone. It seems that these practical skills lead to more tremendous career success later in life, thereby outweighing the potential drawbacks. Furthermore, many young people spend their gap year to achieve something significant, whether in voluntary work or in a sector of business that broadens their perspectives and strengthens their practical abilities.
However, we should not ignore the various drawbacks that a gap year may bring about.
