There is a view, that some student, performed bad at school, succeed in later life. For exceling at school, it is needed to be hardworking and behave well. Even though these qualities help, they are not enough for achieving success in professional life.
Characteristics that determine success at school are obvious, I believe. It is necessary to have good discipline and diligence. That is for completing tasks on time and doing assignments. For instance, I had excellent marks at school due to my good concentration on subjects and submitting my homework on time. Furthermore, it is also essential to comply with rules, which means, being obedient and acting appropriately. Because in some schools, students are also evaluated for their behavior and according to this, their grades may go up or down.
Nevertheless, these traits are insufficient to excel in the later stages of life. Other qualities are also crucial, like communication skills. It is important to know how to negotiate and reach the compromise, since pupils will grow up and be a member of society someday. And they will be required to find a common language with others. In addition, risk taking and independent thinking is vital. Thinking outside the box is great for succeeding and finding new solutions. But these qualities are usually discouraged at schools. Patience also extremely good feature. It encourages to persevere and not to give up. Almost all successful people are stoic, because they stayed strong in achieving their goals.
In conclusion, diligence and manners are required to have good grades at school, but they do not always guarantee success in later life. More common traits are patience and good communicational skills.
