A number of individuals believe those who commit a crime are the results of poverty and social problems. Other think that people with inherent bad features cause crimes. In this essay, I will discuss both view and give my opinion.
In the one side of the argument, some people believe that poverty encourages individuals to turn to crime in order to pay bills and meet family responsibilities. Moreover, unemployment can lead people to crime due to financial pressure and also lack of structure in their daily lives. For instance, nowadays, because of inflation in developing countries such as Iran, a large number of people are below the breadline, resulting in commiting crimes such as thieves and stealing from shops and dispute which might cause killing or murder.
On the contrary, proponents of the opposing view argue that crimes are caused by people with innate dangerous traits, whether the situation is appropriate or not. Despite being rich and wealthy, there are some people who have a tendency to do some actions opposite the rulls of the society, considering as anti-social individuals. They commit an offence because of psychological or neurological disorders. However, with development in medicine and psychology, almost all of these criminal behaviors could be controlled. In my view, with advancement in this area and being controllable, there is less probability of doing crime because of nature.
In conclusion, I believe that socio-economical problems are more likely to cause crime in the country than inner features, because they can be managed by medicine and psychology.
