Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 5+: Some universities offer online courses as an alternative to classes delivered on campus. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, many universities and colleges all over the world allow their students to learn online instead of classes on campus. In my opinion, I think that this trend is beneficial and detrimental simultaneously.

On the one hand, learning through the Internet poses a plethora of problems. First and foremost, it can be really dangerous for their overall health and well-being. This can be explained that they will have to glue their eyes to the screen for a long time until the lessons conclude; as a result, their eyes can be badly impacted. Another telling example is that they will also have to sit for a long time to fully absorb their teachers’ lectures. Thus, there will be influences on their back as well as some other hazardous ailments they can encounter afterwards.

On the contrary, studying online also has a profusion of advantages. The primary reason is that this means of education is really appropriate with students who cannot afford studying abroad. So, they can stay at their home countries, live with their parents and learn through online platform. As a consequence, their families may not have to burden such a big financial burden. One other striking benefits is that it is less time-consuming. If they apply for online courses, they don’t have to commute from their houses to the university, so, they may not get stuck in traffic congestions. As a result, they can utilize their time doing other stuff such as elevating their social skills, or revising to have a sounder understanding about the lessons.

In conclusion, I assert that online courses is an alternative educational program which is both advantageous and disadvantageous, and university students can enhance their studies if they control it wisely.
