There is a statement which states that stores should sell local food goods and not the imported food products. I agree with this statement because it is our duty as citizens to support local companies and the economy.
In my opinion, I consider stores should sell local food to the citizens because they would be helping the economy of their own town or city. I consider local food is part of our culture because there are fruits and vegetables which do not exist in other places. Besides, the quality of local food is better because of the fact that they have less chemicals and thanks to this, they are more nutritious and they have more vitamins.
For instance, in my town, most of the stores support small markets which sell local food. Therefore, when I travel to huge cities, the food flavours are really different and this is because most of these foods are imported. For example, the fruits are less sweet and colourless in cities than in towns. Furthermore, any kind of meat, such as beef, pork or chicken tastes really different in the cities. They are not juicy and it is more flavourless.
To conclude, stores should support small markets by buying their products because it would help the town’s economy. Besides, these products are made of better qualities since they do not have chemicals and they are supposed to be more nutritious and to have more vitamins. Furthermore, local food tastes better and has a better colour.
