In recent years, it has become increasingly important to use computers as a part of lessons in educational institutions. Although there are some disadvantages of computer usage, I believe that the advantages are more significant than the drawbacks.
On the one hand, there are several arguments in favor of computer usage. Firstly, it is more efficient to complete tasks. This is mainly because computers integrate with online and offline tools, which accelerate completing jobs as a team-work. For instance, students might consume a lot of time creating a table, but with computers they just open an application that will show a table directly. Moreover, plentiful resources provided on the internet can be accessed easily within a short time, so students do not have to spend more time in the library finding references. A further advantage is helping individuals facing the digitalization era. That is to say, exposing students to computers at an early age enhances digital skills over time and they are accustomed to using computers to face a fast-paced environment, especially after the academy.
On the other hand, computers have some disadvantages. The first drawback is that people become introverted, which is a significant personality shift. This phenomenon can be caused by a deep-rooted dependency on the internet and having less interaction one to another. For example, people tend to surf the website while having a problem rather than find a real person to communicate with. Another potential issue is increasing the number of vision impairment in children, given that radiation is emitted from computers and the eyes become tired by excessive exposure.
In conclusion, despite some problems such as personality changes and vision impairment when using computers, I believe that the advantages of computer usage in schools outweigh the shortages. Those benefits include efficiency and digital readiness.
