With the exponential growth of the Internet, people these days can learn in an easier way. It is widely argued that whether learning with teachers at educational institutions can provide more knowledge to their pupils than digital tools or not. While the benefits that the Internet and TV bring might be undeniable, I would argue that students can learn better in conventional classrooms.
Granted, it is understandable why students choose to learn from technological devices including the Internet or TV. First, these devices serve as a great source of information, which help enrich students’ knowledge. For example, learners can search anything they want on the internet from English courses to cooking tutorials. Moreover, learning with digital gadgets is indeed convenient since people can study whenever they want and in the comfort of their own home, which might help them to study at their own pace and acquire more knowledge.
Despite aforementioned benefits of these resources, they pale in comparision with advantages of learning with teachers in traditional settings. The first reason for its superiority comes from the fact that teachers and lectures provide more reliable source of knowledge that the internet cannot. This is because these experts have been trained professionally for several years so that they have deeper expertise, so the knowledge being conveyed to students can be understandable and easily being absorbed. Another reason why students can learn more when studying with teachers is that they can interact and ask questions. Also, teachers not only observe and give in-time feedback for students’ mistakes but also motivate them to apply themselves to studying.
In conclusion, while computers, TV and other devices might assist individuals in their learning process, teachers and lectures are those who offer deeper and understandable knowledge as well as a great source of encouragement for their students.
