In contemporary society, it is frequently thought that most sportsmen/women gain huge amounts of money than other crucial professions. A number of people are pushing the idea forward that it is fair enough while others deny this statement. From my perspective, a higher salary for physical training professionals is unfair.
On the one hand, there are reasons why athletes’ salaries can seem high. One of them is that they sacrifice vital aspects of their lives, especially their families. Hence, during each season of any professional event, there are away games that keep players away from their family. Furthermore, most gymnasts are able to gain a majority of their income from advertisements, either by promoting a product or posting about it online. Consequently, we can call them a celebrity. For example, Ronaldo, a renowned soccer player, earns a multitude of amounts of money per Instagram post.
On the other hand, I believe that paying an abundance of income for a sportsperson is unjust because of several arguments. Firstly, due to low salary, younger generations are demotivated to learn other professions such as teachers, and engineers; as a result, the number of personnel in these areas can be significantly reduced. Secondly, these jobs play an essential in everyone’s life as they contribute to society in various aspects. For instance, instructors teach new knowledge to children and give great support in their proper growth. Finally, many workers such as military servants, and doctors risk their lives for the sake of people. Thus, doctors lost their lives while trying to save people’s lives at the period of COVID-19 disease.
In conclusion, although there are legitimate triggers for giving high salaries to athletes, I still think that it is unfair to pay more than other fields.
