In many countries, small shops are increasingly replaced by supermarkets. Despite the availability of all things and more fresh products are significant advantages of this development, I firmly believe that there are some disadvantages such as higher prices and financial damage for owners of local shops that outweigh the drawbacks.
In recent years, the demand for large supermarkets has been increasing significantly. As a result, smaller local shopping centers cannot compete with these supermarkets in market competition. This trend has both disadvantages and advantages. On the bright side, consumers can visit supermarkets as many times as they want, and they can purchase all their needs at affordable prices, as the supermarkets are well served with all kinds of necessary products. that are not available in smaller local shops. Further disadvantage is that these supermarkets work collectively with many big factories and manufacturers that supply these supermarkets with new manufactured products on a daily basis. For example, people can buy fresh fruits and vegetables in all seasons, especially in winter.
On the downside, there are more significant negative aspects of this trend. Firstly, the prices of products in the supermarkets are slightly higher compared to small shops in local areas, so it may be difficult to buy for some residents having poorer financial stability. Secondly, the main source of finance is local shops for some residents who have opened as family businesses. These people can earn money by selling products daily instead of working in specific occupations. Lastly, when local shops are closed, independent shop owners and employees may lose their jobs, while supermarkets tend to offer fewer positions with lower wages.
In conclusion, the availability of old products and more fresh ones are significant advantages. Expensive prices and financial damage for locals are more important drawbacks that far outweigh the benefits.
