In today’s competitive landscape, there is an escalating concern regarding the significant impact of art subject in academic life, which has become one of the most widely discussed issues in modern society. Some argue that it is essential to include art as the main subject in school while others believe that students can improve their academic skills without art. In fact, I strongly agree with those who believe that art is crucial for academic performance.
To begin with, learning art will helps students in creativity, problem solving skills, expressing forms, and release stress. Many individuals become creative and innovate because they already learn art in school. For instance, many students can express themselves through music, poetry or even painting to relieve stress. This mainly because they already familiar with art subject in academic life.
On the other hand, other subjects like mathematic, chemical, physics, or biology is more significant in this globalized world to produce higher skill labor and better quality of life in the future. For example, in developing country, more skills in STEM is needed to make their country develop and have a high impact.
While the subject of art in the curriculum is essential, it is important to strenghtening the position of arts in academia to support main subjects in schools. Art should be helped students in their creativity and valuable skills in their future career.
In conclusion, despite its potential drawbacks, the overall benefits of art – in terms of both creativity and mental well-being – make it a valuable asset. With proper curriculum and responsible practice, its advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages.
