In some part of the world, prisoners are been given the opportunity to have access to education by the help of governments fundings. I agree with this policy because it ensures that crime rate is reduced in the country and provides free access to education for less privileged who could not have money to fund their education.
On the one hand , education plays a major key role in developing a countries economy. Most of the criminalities that occur in various countries are as a result of ignorance. However , if government is able to provide enough money to employ teachers to do more education on crime and their consequences in prisons will help mitigate the occurrence of crime . This is done through creating awareness about the effect of breaking the state laws . Also creating awareness through posters having inscriptions on the. For example whoever finds himself or herself guilty will face the law. This will deter others from committing crimes and reduce the criminal rate in the country.
On the other hand, financing education in various prisons will provide free access to quality education for the poor because , most people were not able to further their education due to lack of funds and so they ended up stealing or falling victims of the law. In addition some crime makers have vocational training and they lack enough experience. Government can creat more workshops for such people to attend within the facility so that they can have certificates to work as professionals. Example is providing safety equipment for contractors, caterers and plumbers to make them work more efficiently for the country. As a result, employment rate increases while crime rate also decreases.
In conclusion, government funding education is more significant not only limiting the rate of criminal activities and providing free access to education for the poor people but provides good human resources for the country.
