Nowadays,people are taking a conscious decision of having children at a later age. It is believed that it has an impact on economies as it affects the quantum of working population of the country. In my belief, people should be allowed to take it slow.
Earlier, in my country, family values were above everything, and everyone abided by the rules set by elders. Seldom anyone had freedom of choice. Where as now, times have changed, people have individualistic values, freedom to choose, concentrating on themselves. It is evident that people are not rushing into having babies. Couples now are prioritizing careers and focusing on earning money till a certain age. They do not want an added responsibility of a child.
Moreover, when one decides to have a child in their thirties, they are also likey to face fertility issues and riskier pregnancies. As you grow older, your fertility is on decline and undeniably biological clock is a crucial factor to consider. Indeed, it is true that families are affected by it, but some render cost of raising a child in this economy as too high. Some people believe they cannot bare such high expenditure, they would rather allocate their funds for themselves.
In doing so, it will impact the future working population of the country. In fact countries like South Korea are promoting four day work culture to help couples stay at home, in the hope of procreating and better family planning.
It is very true in some countries birth rates are affected, so is the working population. Nevertheless, people should realise that pregnancy is personal issues and it’s macro-level impact shouldnt affect an individual’s decision.
