Cause And Solution

Band 7+: The consumption of the world's resources (oil, water, etc.) is increasing at a dangerous rate. What are the causes and solutions?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In a world dominated by overproduction, natural resources are rapidly depleting. The causes of this trend are numerous, particularly the significant population growth experienced in recent decades and the widespread tendency toward overconsumption. Reducing energy demand and raising awareness about environmental issues must be the path to mitigate these problems.

Indeed, the primary cause that increases the consumption of resources is the need to produce more and more. In a competitive market, companies tend to choose non-renewable energy sources, such as oil and coal, which represent a more economically viable and timely solution compared to other options. As a result, not only is the rate of depletion of these resources alarmingly high, but they also have a negative impact on climate change.

To decrease this tendency, it is important to raise awareness among citizens about the issue of overconsumption and to educate them on the conscious use of energy. In fact, reducing the demand for energy and goods results in a lower usage of raw materials. Another solution is to prioritize the use of renewable energy. Wind and solar power, for example, represent a valid substitution that will help extend the availability of other natural resources and minimize CO2 emissions.

In conclusion, the trend of overproduction, which has been increasing since the Industrial Revolution, is a critical issue today. To minimize the negative consequences on the environment and the depletion of natural resources, it is important to act promptly by opting for renewable energy sources.
