Cause And Solution

Band 7+: The consumption of the world's resources (oil, water, etc.) is increasing at a dangerous rate. What are the causes and solutions?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The accelerating rate of natural resource consumption has been a major topic of concern in recent years. While there are some other factors contributing to this negative development, in my view, effective steps can be taken by governments to address the growing prevalence of global resource depletion.

There are some key reasons why natural resources are becoming excessively consumed in recent years. Lack of awareness and regulation is one major reason driving individuals toward overconsumption of natural resources. In many areas, people are not educated about saving resources. In many developing countries, the absence of strict environmental laws allows industries and individuals to use water and energy excessively, without considering the consequences. Another point to mention is growing population density. In this way, population growth leads to higher demand for food, water, oil, gas, and transport.

However, I believe that the rising demand for natural materials can be effectively reduced by implementing various measures at the government level. First and foremost, educating the public about the significance of conserving natural resources can play a crucial role in reducing overconsumption. Awareness campaigns in schools, media, and communities can help people understand how their daily habits influence the environment and encourage them to adopt more sustainable lifestyles. In addition, strengthening laws and regulations about fossil fuel extraction would lessen the environmental impact of oil and gas drilling and encourage the use of alternative energy sources.

Overall, the overuse of natural resources is driven by population growth and poor awareness. By tackling these root causes through education and sustainable policies, we can reduce the strain on our planet’s resources.
