In recent years, population is continuously growing like never before and this is leading to many other problems. However, what factors are exactly leading to a significant rise in population? In addition, even though increasing population is an issue which needs to be tackled, there are other problems that are far more disadvantageous. This essay will discuss both the former and the latter, and will provide an overall view.
Firstly, the prime reason for over-population is improved healthcare, which in turn, has led to higher life expectancy. For instance, when visiting present hospitals you may see that the number of old people is way more than it was in the past. Although this may have advantages such as enjoying way of life and being retired, it is having a great impact in the rates of population. Moreover, there has also been a dramatic rise in number of children, as people are more prone to having at least three child per household. This is proven by statics as they mention a growth in number of pregnancies each year.
Furthermore, whilst continuous rise in number of population has limitations, it is not one of the biggest problems faced by the world. If population continues to over-exceed the negative effects might be as follows: resource scarcity and overwhelming congestion. There are several other matters with one of them being global warming. Each year the summer is becoming warmer and the winter colder and this is impacting humans as well as wildlife. A growing number of researches illustrate the increase in number of extinctions, and difficulty people face in adjusting to the environmental changes. Not only this but there are various other difficulties as well.
In summary, over-population can undoubtedly result in varying consequences, but it is not one of the biggest problems faced by humanity. There are thousands of other issues which require our attention and we, as a community, should try to tackle as many as possible without considering one and ignoring the rest.
