Nowadays, the tourism sector is advancing because of lower international travel costs. While this offers a number of advantages, there are also disadvantages which are worth considering.
There are two main benefits to increasing tourism activities. In the first place, it benefits the local residents financially. For instance, if the international travellers come to their place, their local products and traditional foods can be sold to tourists. Thus, they could make money from this and their lives will be more convenient. Secondly, with higher international travelling, the country’s GDP-growth domestic product can increase. This is because many people usually use their budgets for entertainments, foods and others’ domestic activities during trips. As a result, it is profitable not only for domestic businesses but also for nations’ income.
On the other hand, various drawbacks may be noted. A major disadvantage is that it might negatively impact on environment. The various kinds of trashes are one of the consequences of travelers and emission from higher transportation creates more pollution. Therefore, this can cause global warming and climate change. Moreover, local community might also suffer from heath related issues due to garbage and air pollution. Additionally, demands of tourists regarding local stuffs can encourage the disagreements and quarrelling among the society. When the individuals run similar small businesses, they could compete each other to get buyers and consumers. This could drive fighting among them and peaceful society might become full of competition in the future.
In conclusion, the positive outcomes such as financial stability of the local people and increasing GDP of the country can be anticipated as well as drawbacks such as environmental impacts and becoming hostile society due to development of tourism.
